ITF Taekwon-Do - 2015I’m really not trying to bum you out, but we’re in the middle of the holiday season and with all the events, parties, decorating and family consuming your time, there is a major aspect of your business that is often overlooked. Preparation for 2015!

One of the major things that gets overlooked this time of year is being prepared to hit the ground running when your doors open in 2015! In our heads 2015 still seems so far away because we call it “next year”, which is the same thing we called it last January. We’re not paying attention to the fact that “next year” is less than two weeks away!

So my question to you is…

Are you prepared for 2015?

Well, just for you, I’ve created a checklist to help you get prepared quickly and easily for next year. This is how we plan our year at Karstadt Taekwon-Do.

You don’t have to know “how” you are going to do everything on the list, but you do have to have in down in writing with a date attached to it so you can do whatever you need to do and figure out whatever you need to figure out to make this 2015 Yearly Calendar a reality.

Get out a pad of paper and a calendar and start putting all the pieces together.

2015 Yearly Calendar Planning Checklist
  • What tournaments do you plan on attending/hosting?
  • What seminars do you plan on attending/hosting?
  • What camps to do plan on attending/hosting?
  • What Student Appreciation/Retention Activities do you have planned?
  • When are your testings scheduled?
  • What holidays will you be closed for?
  • Are you running any after-school programs?
  • Marketing – What specials, deals, and advertisements do you plan to run in…
    • January?
    • February?
    • March?
    • April?
    • May?
    • June?
    • July?
    • August?
    • September?
    • October?
    • November?
    • December?

This is intentionally very basic and simplistic. It is meant to be used as a guideline for you to follow and to fill in the blanks with your own creative ideas and events.

If you have done your planning, make sure the work you’ve done addresses all of these questions. If you haven’t, set aside a few hours with your staff or by yourself and think through how you are going to reach the success you want to achieve next year. This is the ground work, the planning required for you to reach those goals.
