You may be thinking, “Heck yeah, I’m like Batman!” Or you might be wondering just what heck I’m talking about.
Either way, let me explain.
Batman is the only super hero that has no super-powers at all! He started as non-super-hero (Bruce Wayne) who, by choice, made himself “super”. He accomplished this with determination, commitment, developed skills and extreme effort… all things that we mortals have the same access to.
Imagine the huevos required to learn some martial arts, bulk up, put a few gadgets together, don a cape and mask with 4 inch pointed ears and appoint yourself guardian of the city, operating outside the law… entirely on your own!
Seems it would be easier if you were Wonder Woman with a magic lasso, Spiderman with the ability to scale walls and shoot webs from your wrist, or even Superman who can fly and is fire, bullet and bomb proof. But what does Batman have? Big Bat Balls. That’s what!
So why do I bring this up?
I speak to Taekwon-Do instructors regularly that can’t believe how someone could own 25+ schools, how someone could make $40,000 in one month, or how someone could have a school with over 900 students. They are mostly looking for “how” something like that is attained, but before you can get to that point there is one critical pre-requsite: you must be a Batman.
In addition to that you need to be able to deal with the adversity that comes along with that. Batman has had his back broken, girlfriends killed and Wayne Manner burnt to the ground. Bottom line here is that it is sheer hubris that is his real super-power. He made a choice and then followed through.
So what makes you so special, that you think you can change people’s lives, make money and be successful teaching Taekwon-Do?
The only thing that makes you so special is that you say that you are.
It’s going to be your decision, your actions and your level of hubris that will determine how far you can go. Everyone who has become a successful martial arts instructor started off with the thought, the idea, the belief that they could (and would) make it happen AND that they would not be stopped.
They are not aliens from Crypton or Demi-gods from Asgard, they are just like you. Just regular old human beings who made a choice.
Now its time for you to make a choice.
You can keep doing what you’re doing, thinking what you’ve been thinking and keep getting the results you’ve always gotten, or you can give up whatever reasons you have, whatever your excuses you have and stop blaming whatever circumstances you have for your current situation and BE A BATMAN. Be someone who can produce what seems like super human results!
The choice is yours.
